Tru Art Color Graphics Receives Certificate of Merit In Five-State Print Competition
April 2021 - Tru Art Color Graphics of Iowa City, Iowa received an award for outstanding achievement in W-2 Promotional Campaigns, Consumer in the annual Star Awards, a five-state print competition hosted by Printing Industry Midwest (PIM), the region’s trade association for the printing, communication, and graphic arts industry.
Competing against entries from printing and graphic arts firms throughout the Midwest, Tru Art received a Certificate of Merit. The company’s winning submission was the “become MORE” Cross Mailer for Iowa Wesleyan University.
“We are very proud of our winning team, and I especially enjoyed working with Iowa Wesleyan’s designer, Amanda Rundquist,” said Sales Manager Kathy Gaulke, who worked closely with the client on the project. “It is an honor to be recognized by the industry as a company that produces top quality award-winning materials.”

Tru Art Color Graphics Awarded Certificate of Merit
May 2019 - Tru Art Color Graphics of Iowa City, IA received an award for outstanding achievement in the category of Folders/Portfolios in the annual Star of Excellence Awards, a five-state printing competition hosted by Printing Industry Midwest (PIM), the region’s trade association for printing, communication and graphic arts industry.
Competing against entries from printing and graphic arts firms throughout Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota, Tru Art Color Graphics received, Tru Art Color Graphics received the prestigious Certificate of Merit Award. The company’s winning submission was a folder for Augustana College called the “Achievement Folder.”
Bob Squiers, Tru Art’s Account Executive, worked closely with Augustana to achieve a unique tri-fold design, die-cut picture frame, and beautiful spot UV coating, all showcasing Tru Art’s superior manufacturing quality.

2015 - Tru Art Color Graphics of Iowa City, IA received an award for outstanding achievement in the category of G-2 Newsletters (4 or more colors) in the annual Star of Excellence Awards, a five-state printing competition hosted by the Printing Industry Midwest (PIM), the region’s trade association for printing, communication and graphic arts industry.
Competing against entries from printing and graphic arts firms throughout the Midwest, Tru Art Color Graphics received the prestigious Certificate of Merit Award. The company’s winning submission was a newsletter for IDT – Integrated DNA Technologies located in Coralville, IA.
Tru Art's sales consultant, Kathy Gaulke worked closely with IDT’s Marketing Director, Lynette Brown to achieve impeccable design and utmost manufacturing quality.
“Reworking content from three years' worth of Decoded newsletter issues and fitting them into our DECODED qPCR Special Issue was an interesting challenge, but the project turned out much better than anticipated and we are very pleased with the result. A special thanks goes to Kathy Gaulke and Lori Livingston for their expertise in helping to determine what was possible and to make the vision a reality,” said Brown.

Tru Art Color Graphics Earns Print Media G7® Master Qualification
June 2014 - Tru Art Color Graphics has been awarded the G7 Master 
Certificate of Qualification by the International Digital Enterprise Alliance (IDEAlliance®). G7 Master Qualification is a sought-after recognition of excellence in printing, and identifies print service providers that excel in implementing the G7 Proof-to-Print Process. A G7 Master Qualified Printer implements a calibration method that allows printers to achieve a visual simulation across multiple print platforms.

Competing against entries from printing and graphic arts firms throughout the Midwest, Tru Art Color Graphics received the prestigious Certificate of Merit Award. The company’s winning submission was a soft cover book for the City of Iowa City’s, Iowa City Sustainability Assessment 2013.
The assessment was written by a team led by Brenda Nations, Environmental Coordinator and designed by designer, Robyn Hepker of Benson & Hepker Design. Tru Art's sales consultant, Kathy Gaulke worked closely with the City & Benson & Hepker to provide an eco-friendly report, supreme in quality. The assessment consists of 100 pages with a 4-page cover. The user-friendly design is perfect-bound, and lays flat and printed on FSC®-Certified paper using vegetable-based inks. Tru Art, is an FSC®-Certified printer. The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an organization that works to promote the practice of sustainable forestry worldwide.

March 2012 - Iowa City, Iowa - Tru Art Color Graphics recently received an Addy award through a regional competition known as the ADDYs and sponsored by the American Advertising Federation.
Tru Art earned a Gold ADDY for an annual report produced for Integrated DNA Technologies. The Gold ADDY is judged to be superior in the category of “Sales Promotion.”
The ADDY Awards are part of the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition that recognizes excellence in all creative dimensions.
Tru Art Color Graphics wins two Addy® Awards
February 2010 - Iowa City, Iowa - Tru Art Color Graphics recently received two awards through a regional competition known as the ADDYs and sponsored by the American Advertising Federation.
Tru Art earned a Gold ADDY for “Building a Masterpiece: Legacy of The University of Iowa Museum of Art”, produced for the University of Iowa Museum of Art. The book was designed by Firefly Communications & Design of Iowa City, Iowa. The Gold ADDY is judged to be superior to all other entries in each category competition.
The company was also recognized with a Silver ADDY for a recruiting brochure “Something’s About to Change”, produced for the University of Iowa’s Tippie School of Management. The brochure was designed by Emily Huinker of Coralville, Iowa.
